torrenting stuck on retrieving metadata

Trying to use the latest version of Qbtorrent and all torrents are stuck on the metadata. If the vpn is turned off, it works.

I am aware that some vpn's require some settings. Here is one example for a place that only protects torrenting:

Is this the sort of settings that need to be changed and if so, what would those settings be?

Pretty old but installed the latest version of qbtorrent and everything works fine without modification.
