Spellcheck not working on Thunderbird for emails. Spellcheck box appears when you click on it but is totally non-functional! Spellchecks working ok on other formats, word, office etc. Any simple suggestions to resolve the problem gratefully received. NB I'm no techie. DB.

Spellchecking in word or any other application is totally irrelevant here.

What might be the issue is you may have no spell checking dictionary installed.

Goto the options in Thunderbird and search for spell. Check you have a dictionary set and download another dictionary if you don't have one.
