How do I stop Thunderbird from marking email as read just because it was highlighted in the list for a few seconds

I have 2 e mail accounts, one account shows e mails as read as soon as it apears in inbox. The other account only shows as read when actually opened and read I cannot find a difference in any settings

I have tried Tools/Options/reading & Display/ does not seem to have any impact

Where else should I look
