Massive amount of background data used (over 1gb in 3 days)
Installed android on Tuesday because I was unhappy with Chrome on PC. In those 3 days I received a data usage warning (great only 22 more days to go on my limited data now). I checked usage in my phone and firefox is the culprit. It used 142MB foreground and 1.1GB background. I've turned off background data now, but this obviously can't be right.

Hi
I have a couple of ideas that may help with this:
Are you using Firefix Sync, but only on one device? Sync is designed for use to port data (such as bookmarks) between two devices - on one device you will not see as much benefit, but will be sending and receiving data.
Firefox for Android has updated recently, but you can change a setting to make sure that updates only happen over WiFi. In the options menu, Settings, Advanced, and select Automatic updates to only update over WiFi.
I hope that this helps.
Thanks for the answer. This was my first instance installed of Firefox so I do suspect there was some sync'ing going on. I just noticed that I did leave my home alarm tabs open but I dont think / hope that the video streams were constantly streaming.
I do have sync set up with 1 other device. Shouldn't be grabbing ton.
I'll try the update part. Thanks!
Hi
No problem at all, I hope it helps.
