When you try to 'Get Messages' what happens? When you start Thunderbird, it should check for mail, what happens? What does it say in bottom status bar? Logging on , connecting , connected ? What error messages do you get...word for word?

Please post the following info: In Thunderbird

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • click on 'Copy text to clipboard'
  • In this forum question, right click in a 'Post a Reply' text box and select 'Paste'
  • you can edit/remove all info on fonts and printers, but nothing else.

Toad, thanks for your help.

I finally got the problem solved by contacting AOL and they helped me inter the correct settings.

It wasn't Thunderbirds problem all along, my Verizon account had me entering the wrong settings for the server settings.
