I have downloaded Firefox for android went to my mailbox to confirm and from there I'm lost I'm signed in but I can't get to home page to search keeps taking me back to download app

It seems you are using Firefox Beta for Android, you should switch to stable. To do so, first uninstall FF Beta Android, then click on Google Play and in the search box, search for 'Mozilla Firefox' and download it.
To set up Sync:
1. Create a Firefox account. 2. Sign in on both phone and desktop. 3. Sync!
