it's somewhat of a UX fail that i have to ask a question to create an account for your support forum. there should be a link to creating an account on the signup page (screenshot included). in my particular case, i found an already open question for my real issue (not this one), and want to add a comment which hopefully clarifies the situation further.

fwiw, i only stumbled into figuring out that i had to ask a question to create an account, it was not intuitive at all.

Thanks for reaching out about registration on this site. Our guidelines state that a thread is to be solely used by the owner for their purposes and that asking another question in a thread that is not yours is prohibited. You can view that here.
