I cannot get Firefox on my MacBookPro anymore, my user profile is not available. Help!
I got a message at the bottom of my screen telling me my browsing might be faster if I 'refreshed' Firefox, so I refreshed. I lost my bookmarks and a few other things (I forgot this would happen) and thought restarting my MacBookPro might benefit from a 'restart'. When it was time for Firefox to restart, it said I had two profiles, so I chose one of them... apparently not the right one. Firefox would not load or install and now I don't have it at all. I tried to uninstall Firefox (moving icons to the trash) and start all over with a whole new installation, like a brand new client, but... now it says my user profile is inaccessible and can't be found. I dug that file out of the trash and put it back on the desktop, but apparently that didn't work either. I am duped about what to do. I NEED Firefox for my browser, even if I don't have past bookmarks etc. I can redo those, find new ones etc. I dislike using Safari, I miss my Firefox like crazy. ANY help and/or advice on how I can get Firefox back would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Katy

You need to locate the profiles.ini file or use the Profile Manager to create a new profile.
See:
This is usually caused by a problem with the profiles.ini file.
You can use one of these to make Firefox create a new default profile or reuse an existing profile:
- Delete the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
- Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
If you still have an existing profile then click "Choose Folder" in the PM and select the location of a lost profile and recover this profile.
You should find the profiles.ini file in this hidden location:
- Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
*C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\ - Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
- Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/
If clearing the profiles.ini file isn't working then also check the location of the cache files.
- Windows: *C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
- Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/
- Linux:~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/

Thank you so much! Problem solved, Firefox is once again installed and my default browser. I am HAPPY!
