You select a mail that is part of a conversation. By that I mean it has references headers in the message header referring to other mails in Thunderbird. These are usually added when reply is clicked. So the reply will open in a conversation.

Thanks for the message Matt, but what is happening is that the option "open in conversation" is greyed out. How do I set it up so that the option is available?

it is only available if you have a message selected with the appropriate headers to open in a conversation.

OK, I think we best demonstrate and then either it works and you understand what I am saying. Or there is an issue with your install and I understand where ou are coming from.

Send an email to devildgatedrive at gmail dor com. Just a short note. I will reply and we will back and forth a couple of times. Then either the open in conversation will just work for you on that conversation or there is an issue.

Hello Matt, I tried sending you an e-mail, but the address above didn't work I tried gmail.dor.com and gmaildor.com and had no success.

Please check if the devildgatedrive is mispelled or missing a letter.
