Firefox bug? McAfee SiteAdvisor 3.7.1 jams CPU useage at 50%
Firefox 35.0.1 Under certain circumstances Firefox starts using excessive CPU time. It seems to happen when trying to do too many things at once. But, once in this condition exiting all functions (closing all tabs) except my homepage Firefox still is stuck using 50% CPU and over 200,000k memory. The only way to get out of this is to close Firefox and restart it.
After much experimenting I found that disabling (extension) McAfee SiteAdvisor "cured" the problem. Is there a know incompatibility here? Is there a fix, other than disabling SiteAdvisor?
How do I report this to mozilla developers?

McAfee SiteAdvisor has been blocked by Mozilla a number of times over the years due to a major memory leak. although not recently iirc. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/ So it doesn't surprise me one bit that McAfee seems to be causing problems for you now.
Overall, that extension merely duplicates features that are built into Firefox. IMO, it adds nothing to Firefox, beyond a different database source and possibly "bells and whistles" to "wow" users.

Thanks for the info. I checked with McAfee tech support and got nowhere.
I have got the same problem, but not with McAfee, have got Norton. And I have to close firefox via the task manager in order to get everything closed, as Firefox "hangs" with 50% CPU usage + lots of memory!!!!!!
