uninstall TB 6 and deleting mail archives

Hi All,

I've got TB 6 installed on my Win7 Pro laptop. I want to uninstall TB and delete the old email folder files. My old email files are located at C:\Users\Advait\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird.

Question: Should I uninstall TB and then delete C:\Users\Advait\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird? Or will uninstalling TB also automatically delete the folders and files at C:\Users\Advait\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird?

My goal is to uninstall TB 6 and to delete all the old email files at C:\Users\Advait\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird. I just want to make sure I follow the right steps. What are the right steps to do this?

Thanks! Cheers,

Advait

The order does not matter but you have to do both steps.

Solução escolhida

"Question: Should I uninstall TB and then delete C:\Users\Advait\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird?"

Yes

"Or will uninstalling TB also automatically delete the folders and files at C:\Users\Advait\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird?"

No.

Your Thunderbird program and its data store (aka profile) are stored in separate places. Deleting Thunderbird will not delete the profile.

If you run Thunderbird without a profile it may try to generate a new one. So I'd uninstall the Thunderbird program and then delete the profile i.e. C:\Users\Advait\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird
