Firefox no longer will automatically sign to my saved apps after I close them. I now am required to sign-in every time I open the app.

I think is because you have "Clear cookies and site data everytime you close Firefox" enabled in your browser settings. Cookies usually store your information, so if you have that enabled, that could be the reason why whenever you close firefox, it logs out all of your account.
To fix this, disable that option in the settings under "Privacy and Security"
