Within the past couple of days, Firefox has been rather glitchy. For example, when switching between tabs using Command + #, it switches the screen to the tab, but the tab indicators at the top do not change. When this happens, scrolling is extremely slow on the page, and I have to create a new tab to fix the problem. In addition, when closing tabs, there is often a space where the tab used to be. This fixes itself a good amount of the time, but I have to close the browser in some circumstances. When I do try and close the browser it says there are 3 Tabs open, instead of the actual 2 on the screen (add the blank space and it is 3). Finally, in the menu (the three horizontal bars), the Preferences and Add-ons buttons do not seem to activate upon clicking them, no matter what I try. Thanks to anyone who can help!

It appears I fixed the problem! I went to about:addons and disabled an add-on named "All Tabs Helper." Thank you very much for your help, jayelbe!

Hello,

Wow! What a strange issue.

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) while restore Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information. Hopefully it will fix the issue.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Is there any way to check my current add-ons before doing this? I want to make sure to download them before refreshing Firefox as they will be deleted.
