I keep getting the Firefox download page instead of the Firefox browser on my Windows 11 computer, even though I downloaded it several times after it was accidentally knocked off by some other program. How can I get it back to the Firefox browser?

I can't open Firefox. I keep getting the message "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window.". I can't find it to close. I tried uninstalling it, but I keep circling back to the same message. I tried refreshing it and again same message. I un installled Surfshark VPN, I ran Windows Defender antivirus. I am now out of ideas. I do have two profiles, but the message about deleting them is scary. I don't want to do anything until I understand what I am doing.

I wanted to refresh Firefox. When I downloaded the installer from the Mozilla website, I got this message: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." I finally downlaoded it from the App store and now I get this message "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
I can't recollect doing anything lately that would have caused such a problem. I don't mess with the registry, and I don't use rogue programs. I do have a Surfshark VPN, which I disabled to download the latest version of Firefox.
I am running Windows 11 on a Dell PC, which is about 6 months old.
I didn't have any problems until reciently.
How can I fix this?

I don't know if this is a problem, but I have several profile folders (see image). The top one is empty, but two folders below that one, are 2 GB or more in size.
Should I delete some or any of them?
