Slow download speed

cykada99 replied

I use Firefox from early beginning. Now have problem.

Download any files is SO SLOW. I have 40/4 Mbit connection, and downloading through Firefox is max 2Mbit , if I use DownThemAll , speed is multiplied by 2Mbit, so if DownThemAll divide to 4 files, my file downloading 8Mbit.

Chrome download speed of same file and same source is 10Mbit (without any accelerators). IDM Download speed - MAX 40Mbit.

I tried almost all, turning off all adddons, start in safe mode, clean registry with CCLeaner, also with TuneUp - NOTHING.

Can someone have any solution?

Solved by resetting WinSock in XP :

Reset Winsock (XP)

To reset Winsock on Windows XP:

1. Click Windows Start, then click Run.

2. In the Open: field type CMD, then click OK. The Windows Command Console (black DOS window) will appear.

3. At the blinking cursor, type netsh int ip reset c:\Reset.txt

4. Press Enter on the keyboard.

5. At the blinking cursor, type: netsh winsock reset

6. Press Enter.

7. At the blinking cursor, type: exit. This closes the Windows Command Console window.

8. Restart your computer.
