Thunderbird is only an agent between you and your email provider. As such, thunderbird is returning message from your email provider that the password is wrong. The actual problem may be an incorrectly configured server, spelling error in email address, or possibly that your email provider uses a unique password for email clients. If you post screenshot of your incoming server settings pane, someone here may have suggestions. Thank you.
