My email wont load. Says inbox is full but I have emptied it

I get an alert that says this

The folder Inbox is full, and can't hold any more messages. To make room for more messages, delete any old or unwanted mail and compact the folder.

I have emptied inbox and trash. I have restarted computer.

Please Help[

Right click the folder in the folder pane, select the WORD compact like the error message uses.
