In Firefox 152.0.5 under Windows 10, when I hover the mouse pointer over a tab, a balloon pops up showing the text that is on the tab. I find this extremely annoying as I can read what is on the tab. I have searched on the Mozilla site, and I have searched with Google, all to no avail. How can I disable those redundant popup balloons?

I can see that I can access hidden tabs from firefox menu > History > Hidden Tabs. I have non hidden tabs in my permanent session that is saved/reload whenever I close/open Firefox.

I searched in the support section of Mozilla and found that I can use extensions to hide tabs and find these hidden tabs through History > Hidden Tabs to access or simply unhide any of those tabs.

My question is what would be the benefit of hiding any tab? For privacy? If so, is hiding tabs really efficient to protect tabs content and/or browsing history?

I could see that some extensions offer to protect hidden tabs with a password and even automatically unload tabs upon hiding them.

Thanks in advance to shed some light on this hiding feature.

when i open the browser today i noticed that my wallpaper which i've set isn't showing. i tried restarting and refreshing the browser but it didn't work. so i tried to change my wallpaper or see it again by clicking customize, but i only saw that i have allowed my wallpaper, but no picture or another option was shown.

I created a new profile on my account. Whenever I am in the original profile, I can click on the new profile and it will open a new window with a new icon. However, I notice that under the new profile, it is not signed in. When I try to sign in, I get an error that says

Account already in use xxx@gmail.com is already signed in to the “original” profile

You can only associate this account with one profile on this computer.

Then it forces me to switch back to the original profile. This tells me that the profile is not syncing for access across devices.

This is happening on my macbook.

Firefox opens as it should but it opens with two additional tabs showing. How do I prevent this. What setting/s do I manipulate to prevent opening multiple tabs on start up? windows 11 / HP Omnibook, new purchase initial set up of FireFox.

I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden, when I open firefox, I get a blank page--it used to ahve at leat 10 or more great articles form all sorts of sources=I tried to reinstall, update and still the same.

There are a million links when searching this problem; none of the fixes work and a search on this site was nothing more than FAQs about bookmarks and what they used for, blah blah. Astonishing, for such a big issue that seems to be a legacy problem now. So little clarity over the gazillion alleged fixes for this. Tempts you to get a browser with paid professional support... The consultants I support as a programmer and using Firefox are asking again frequently, "Any idea when we'll get a clean version that simply fixes all the bugs and forgets about flashy new shit and all that ?" A very compelling question...

Is there a handy fix I can transmute easily and won't have to waste hours on for each person etc ?

There is a section called "Recent bookmarks", which appears after clicking on the 'Bookmarks' button in the browser sidebar. My problem with it is that it appears automatically, and it cannot be hidden, removed, or minimized; and shows all the recent bookmarks saved or imported to firefox. I feel very uncomfortable using the browser with such a feature. I would tell you that I switched to Firefox from Apple's Safari browser; and one of the reasons for such move was this same problem in that browser. I'm using the latest version of firefox browser v 152.0.5 (64-bit), on macbook pro m4 running latest macOS. Please help if you can how to either hide or remove the "Recent bookmarks" or please consider adding the capability for the user to do so, in the next browser update.

Where is the "New Window" option in file menu of the 152.0.5 version of Firefox? why is there no 'New Window option" in file menu of the 152.0.5 version of Firefox? There is only one option, "New Private Window." If this is the new version of Firefox and I have been a fan and consumer for over 20 years, I am going to use Safari.

I have been told to disable my ad-blocker by some commercial web sites and I understand that. But I am also not seeing charts and other non-ad items on web sites such as this one: https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/alcohols-health-myth-over-how-tell-patients-2026a1000map?ecd=wnl_tp10_daily_260703_MSCPEDIT_etid8475291&uac=146695DK&impID=8475291. I don't want to change my default browser but this is a recent development that seems to be impairing my viewing of pertinent items placed on legitimate web sites. Could you please tell me how to adjust my browser settings to stop this from happening? Thank you! Best regards, Bill Strike
