How do I bring my tab thumbnails back?

Dear Mozilla,

My new-tab-thumbnails feature is gone now and I'd like them back. Things I've tried are:

1. On a new tab I clicked on the icon that turns these thumbnails on. Turns out they were already set to "On". Then I checked the webpage below. It didn't help me as my thumbnails are STILL missing. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thumbnails-on-new-tab-page-are-missing

 Any ideas? Suggestions? - Partok

Are only the thumbnails missing and do you still have (empty) tiles on the about:newtab page?

Are you keeping the history and the cache?

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear the Cache (Firefox will disable the disk cache in this case, see about:cache)
