Firefox for Android lets you choose the content you want to see when you open a new tab. Set it to your favorite website or have it show the default Firefox Home Page which displays great content, such as top-ranked sites, trending stories on Pocket (now part of Mozilla) and sites you've recently visited or bookmarked.

Top Sites in Firefox for Android lets you access pages you've visited or bookmarked recently. If you're a new user, Firefox will show the top-ranked sites according to Alexa.This article will show you how to manage Top Sites by pinning, removing sites or editing them.

Hide or reorder panels

  1. Tap the Menu button (either below the screen on some devices or at the top-right corner of the browser), then Settings (you may need to tap More first).
  2. Tap General, and then Home.
  3. Tap the panel you want to hide or move: Top Sites, Bookmarks or History.
  4. Choose between the following settings:
    • Set as default: The panel will be the first thing you see when you open a new tab or open Firefox.
    • Hide: removes the panel from the home screen.
    • Change order: Moves the panel to the left or right of the screen.

Show or hide additional content on the Top Sites panel

  1. Tap the Menu button (either below the screen on some devices or at the top-right corner of the browser), then Settings (you may need to tap More first).
  2. Tap General, and then Home.
  3. Tap Top Sites.
  4. Under Additional content, tap the switch next to each type of content you want to see.

Edit thumbnails

Tap and hold a thumbnail to bring up a menu with different options: such as opening a site in a new or private tab, remove, bookmark, share, copy or pin a site in place.

Set another website as your Homepage

See Change the Homepage to a specific page for instructions on show a specific web page instead of the default Firefox Homepage.

Pin or Unpin Site

To make a site stay, "pin" it to your Top Sites screen. First, tap and hold the tile to bring up the menu.

  • To Pin a site, tap Pin Site.

  • To unpin it, repeat the steps above and tap Unpin Site.

Edit

  • To edit a site, tap and hold the tile to bring up the menu, then choose Edit.

Remove

  • To remove a site, tap and hold the tile to bring up the menu, then choose Remove.

Share

  • To share a site, tap and hold the tile to bring up the menu, then choose Share.

  • Then share via Bluetooth, drive, or choose from other options.

Copy Address

  • To copy the site address, tap and hold the tile to bring up the menu, then choose Copy Address.

Add a Site

  • To add a site, tap the empty tile with the plus sign.

Hide or Unhide the Top Sites screen

  • Here you can make the following changes:
  • To hide Top Sites from Home, select Hide.
