My folders from my TalkTalk account keep disappearing and reappearing.

jackiemay

The folders from my TalkTalk account keep disappearing and reappearing. I have tried lots of fixes suggested by a guy who helps with tech issues but nothing has worked yet. Just before it happened, I clicked to 'compact folders' when prompted. I've done this loads of times before with no issues. I have used Thunderbird for a long time and never had this problem before. The folders seem to disappear when I shut down and restart the computer. Yesterday they came back in about 5 minutes. Today they haven't come back and I've had the computer on for about half an hour. Every time the folders come back, they are Threaded (which I never choose) and Ascending (I always choose Descending). I change them back but next time they revert again.

So far, we have: backed up the profiles checked the server settings checked the password checked webmail - working fine refreshed the folders (subscribe) deleted a .msf file

Any other ideas? Much appreciated!

Hi, Some questions

Are you on version 159? If so you may be seeing what has been identified in Bug2087454

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2087454

The good news is the problem should be patched in the coming days.

Modified by Bill76

Thanks so much Bill 76 - I will wait to see what happens. Very helpful.

This is a known problem, and a fix is currently available in TB 160.0 b4. As a workaround for the release version 159.0, try to set the pref mail.server.default.use_compress_deflate to false (see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/config-editor).

Thank you - I will have a go at doing that. Is the upgrade to 160 coming soon?

TB 160 will be released next week.

That's good news! Thank you,
