How do I stop bogus McAfee Antivirus pop-ups

James replied
Clayton Dahle

How can I suppress a recurring pop-up in Firefox that claims my computer is infected with a virus and it instructs me to download McAfee Antivirus to clear it out. I've done multiple scans with my Norton Antivirus which showed I had no viruses. The fake pop-ups appear to be coming from Firefox.

Are these as small popups on the bottom right corner of Firefox window?. If so then these may just be web push notifications from sites you have allowed to send you notifications. Instead of useful information some may send you junk, spam, fake virus/trojan alerts etc. You can revoke these sites from sending you these notifications.
