spurious links
recently pages opened in Firefox have highlighted spurious links which take me to various unwanted adds, like penny bid sites. Have spoken to website owners about the problem and they suggested i may have a trojan - using mac oxs 10.8.2. Used anti virus clam and found no trojan and spurious links persists even after emptying cache and deleting cookies. Any suggestions? tah

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try some of the following programs to scan for malware:
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Microsoft Security Essentials (A good permanent anti-virus if you don't already have one)

Keep your Antivirus and Anti-Malwares upto date.
Don't visit malwares sites.
