I am using Firefox 3.6.12 on xp. I am unable to open links of the type: file:///abc/en/dira/dirb/somefile.pdf These linked files are located on servers on the local network. When I click the link, Firefox does nothing. No errors, no hourglass, nothing. IE does open these for me. Any suggestions for opening these links?

Update: I just updated to Firefox 6.0.2 (yes I probably should have done this before) and the problem persists. Any help would be appreciated.

If abc is server address then you should use 5 slashes. 

file://///abc/en/dira/dirb/somefile.pdf
