different contacts same email address
Currently using 140.7.1esr (64-bit) and having problem with more than one contact having same email address. Looking at copy of sent email and address names are same, but floating over each the embedded are the correct names. Do recipients see same address?? Who is receiving the email -- very confused?? Would like to see correct names.

[ Settings \ General \ Message List \ Preferred address display format ] as Full Name and email address is how I have it. But tested -- uncheck (Show only display name for people in my address book) and problem solved. Now I can see the true recipient's embedded name.

People working in a corporate marketing world often have a single corporate email for customer contact, and each employee shares that with their own name. Their internal system may filter for each person, but thunderbird cannot know that. Yes, it's a beautiful day. Enjoy it. I just took a brief walk. :)
Yes and no. I understand that Thunderbird cannot know how the receiving system filters the email. But why is it that Thunderbird is not able to show the correct full email address in the "TO" line when reading from the sent mail folder or in the "Correspondents" column for the sent folder? Aren't these entries the same full email address for each individual as when I created the email?
Try checking your settings for how email address is displayed at settings>general. That may be useful
