Regardless of Windows version and (as far as I can tell) Firfox version, password manager will not usefully store any password that begins or ends with and exclamation mark. It reveals only the exclamation mark itself when password is used.

Seems to be working for me. Does this also happen if you edit such a login in the Password Manager (about:logins)?

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click "Refresh Firefox" in the Troubleshoot Mode start window

Reboot the computer into Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect.
