I am not able to see email fetch status when I Get Messages
After updating to Tbird version 143.0, the status of fetching messages from my email accounts is no longer shown in a status bar that's just below the main message list panel.
I know messages are being fetched correctly, because they show up as unread in my message folders. I've tested sending to myself, and it works !!. I have tried poking around in setting preferences, to no avail. I want my internet email session status line back!
Both my iMac and Mac Air, running macos 15.6.1, have the problem.
Being able to see status of connecting to and fetching from my different email accounts is critical for knowing the fetch operation is proceeding .... and/or working around the occasional connection problem (like: "you're not connected to the internet, dummy !!!)

Go View and ToolBars and then check Status Bar
That worked Michael T but ironically, the Status Bar check box was already checked (and had been during my own troubleshooting). So .... I unchecked it .... then shut down Thunderbird and restarted it.
Ironically, when I restarted T-Bird, the Status Bar had been re-enabled (even though I had taken no action to re-check the box that enables it). And .... drum roll .... the status bar was back, and showed progress of email fetches.
So ... problem solved, but I still don't understand why I originally had no status bar, even though View/Toolbars/Status bar was checked. My instincts tell me some kind of funny business happened when I updated T-Bird to version 143.0 and it looked for a 'Status Bar' token in my computer account Applications Support area.
Bottom line: it works now and I credit you Michael T for suggesting I fool around with View/Toolbars/Status Bar setting.
