How do I recover my old profile

Shawn

I did the new browser update. It wiped out all of the back ups of all of my profiles on my system in the User profiles. I need to get back the profile I was using yesterday. I need this urgently.

Hi Shawn,

If the Firefox update has caused your previous profile to disappear, the profile data may still be on your computer. Please don't uninstall Firefox or delete any profile folders, as this could make recovery more difficult.

First, open Firefox and type about:profiles into the address bar. This will show the profiles Firefox currently knows about. If your old profile is listed, you can select Launch profile in new browser.

If it isn't listed, your profile folder may still exist on your computer. The location depends on your operating system. If you're using Windows, you can press Windows + R and enter %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ to check whether your old profile folder is still there.

If you can see an older profile folder, don't delete or modify it yet. Let us know what you find, including your operating system and the names of the folders shown (but don't post the contents of the files), and we can help you recover it.
