Hello,
I want to import email addresses into an existing Thunderbird mailing list. I know how to import and create a new list, but not sure on how to add to an existing list without manually tying in all the information.
Thank You,

I have several POP Mail Server accounts from which I download emails to Thunderbird, including two accounts with Gmail and two with Zoho. I have them configured the same way on both a desktop and a laptop computer.
Up until Sept. 26 all were working fine. After that date, however, I've been unable to download mail from Zoho on either computer, even though I still can download from Gmail. Strangely, I get an error message when I try to download using the desktop computer, but don't get one with the laptop. In neither case, though, will the Zoho email download. The error message, titled "Error with account Zoho_cof", says:
"Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox."
I have plenty of disk space on both computers and have not changed write privileges.
Since the problem is restricted to Zoho and occurred simultaneously on both computers, I thought the problem lay with Zoho. They, however, claim that the problem lies with Thunderbird.
I've attached screenshots of the configuration page for one Zoho account (which stopped working) and for comparison one Gmail account (which continues to work).
I've run Thunderbird in Troubleshoot mode and still get the problem. Can anyone offer a suggestion as to what to do? Thanks!

I have two iCloud mails in Thunderbird. The older one runs great. For the other new one - same settings - mails sent often appear totally blank in the sent folder. Going to the iCloud webmail, sent messages appear totally normal and mails are sent to destination without any problem. I tried everything, no avail. Also weird is I have two "sent" folders (for no clear reason). Both have this issue, not always. See screenshot of iCloud webmail.

So a client ask me for help, started out as not being able to open attachments on many emails. I made a back up prior trying anything, but was not able to copy over a 'sent' file (19gb) and global-messages-db.sqlite (803 mb) I tried doing repair on the mail boxes and deleting the global-messages-db.sqlite file (read it will rebuild. But now years of emails are missing completely. this is beyond me, mailbox file is still large and wondering if there is a pro that knows how to recover from this.

I just had to change the password on my host email server. Now I can't send email and when I try, I her the error box asking me to enter a new password. I do that with the new pass word and the message comes back immediately. I checked my saved password for SMTP and it shows up as the new pass word. I can send mail from the host server email app so I know that end is working. I can also receive emails on Thunderbird from the host with the new password. I have 2 other email accounts on 3 different hosts and those send emails through Thunderbird without any issue. My host tech support checked out everything from their side and feel that it is something in Thunderbird. I have the newest version of Thunderbird which just downloaded a couple of days ago. I have checked everything I know but no luck. Help!

Hi, I have been using Thunderbird for 3 years. It worked well in the past. However, Thunderbird failed to download an email yesterday. I can read this email both on website and my phone. The error message is as below:
Retrieval using the IMAP4 protocol failed for the following message: 4319

The message hasn't been deleted. You might be able to view it using either Outlook or Outlook Web App. You can also contact the sender to find out what the message says.

Hi,
I have Thunderbird installed on two computers, with the same two IMAP accounts. On one computer, I have a bunch of message filters that sort incoming emails into folders. With IMAP, the same thing happens on the mail server – very convenient indeed.
Now I would like to make the same filters on the other computer, but wonder if there might be a caveat if Thunderbird is running on both computers simultaneously. What if the two computers receive the same new email, and decide to move it to a different folder at the same time? Is there any risk of a conflict that will mess up the email, or the entire folder structure?
I have not yet tried this, as I don't know if there is a risk. Anyone with insight on this?

Hi,
Is it possible to add a Thunderbird Settings option to show its email notifications on a Windows 11 PC ONLY when Thunderbird window is inactive and hidden behind other app windows on screen? When the client window is active, and new emails arrive and appear in it, there is no need to dublicate it by popup notifications, so this feature is redundant and should be auto off.

Email won't send with error message: "Must issue a STARTTLS command first. Verify email address in setting first and try again." I went to my settings and check that STARTTLS is the email connection security and my email address is correct.
I don't have and edit for account settings so I made sure it was correct then closed and restarted TB and restarted my computer. Neither worked for me. I can receive message but not send anything out.

At step 3 I don't have OAuth2 in the drop-down menu. Just
No authentication Normal password Encrypted password Kerberos / GSSAPI NTLM
With OAuth2 selected in the places it *is* available, I just get Host contacted, sending login information... ad infinitum.
How do I fix it? Thanks.

Sometime around Sept 18-19, the Local Folders has become 'hidden' and not fully visible. My wife thinks she chose the 'Hide Local folders' option from the 'folder pane options'. I tried to disable/re-enable that option but Local Folders still do not show, even with that option disabled. There is 1 folder in Favorites that does show it is a sub-folder about 5 levels deep, (although most of the upper level folders will show emails when selected). There are 20+ folders shown in the Recent folders that do show emails as expected. When i select the 'All Folders' option under 'Folder Modes', nothing happens. The display does not change, and when i click back to show the options again, 'All Folders' is NOT selected (even though i just had selected it!).
I read though several topics related to Local Folders, but i do not see this specific issue. I verified the Local Folders directory on Windows does have data (.sbf, MSF, and File) and all the sub-directories. It contains about 4.3GB of data. I tried Copying the actual Local Folders directory on Windows to a new directory, and then changed the Local Folders Account settings configuration to use that new path, however same result, Still cannot see Local Folders entire directory structure. Using TB v128.30.esr. Have it configured to apply updates when available. I saw in the release notes there were updates released on or around Sept 18-19. I initially thought the Local Folders index was corrupted somehow on Windows, so i tried the 'Repair Folder' option on the 5 levels i could see in the 1 Favorite that was showing, especially the top level, however that did not change anything. Since I cannot see the whole Local Folder structure, i cannot try on any other folders. I now suspect there is an issue with 'Hide Local Folders' function. that seems to be what has caused all this.
will attach screen caps showing the menu options, and Recents/Favorites. I can provide others if needed. thanks for any guidance. Eric
