I am using my University of Florida email (https://www.mail.ufl.edu/), IMAP. When I turn on Thunderbird and I send messages, everything is good for a few hours. After that, when I send an email I get this error every time:

Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent-XXXX@XXX.

How can this be solved? Only way to fix is closing Thunderbird or rebooting, then problem represents itself. But then I lose the sent emails.

Note: could the problem be that by Default Thunderbird saves emails in a different sent folder? Which is not ideal, because when I send from my phone or from the web things go in a different folder than when i send from Thunderbird. Should I tick off "others"? in the attached pic? How should I consolidate the 2 "sent" folder into one? Should I manually copy them? Or after I select "others", they consolidate themself. I dont wanna do a mess, can you please provide step by step instructions.

      1. 🔷 **Issue Summary:**

While using Firefox under normal conditions, the system **freezes completely** at random times. The desktop environment becomes unresponsive, requiring a hard reboot to recover. The issue typically occurs during heavier browsing sessions (e.g., video playback or graphics-heavy websites).

System logs (`dmesg` and `journalctl`) show **AMDGPU virtual memory protection faults**, indicating a GPU-related issue triggered during Firefox usage.

---

      1. 🔷 **Log Snippet:**

```text amdgpu 0000:03:00.0: amdgpu: VM_L2_PROTECTION_FAULT_STATUS:0x00641051 Faulty UTCL2 client ID: TCP (0x8) PERMISSION_FAULTS: 0x5 [gfxhub0] retry page fault (src_id:0 ring:0 vmid:6 pasid:32776, for process RDD Process pid XXXX thread firefox-bi:cs0 pid XXXX) ring gfx_low timeout, but soft recovered ```
---
      1. 🔷 **System Information:**
  • **OS:** Linux Mint 22.1 x86\_64 (based on Ubuntu)
  • **Kernel:** (e.g., `5.15.0-xxx-generic`) ← *replace with actual kernel version*
  • **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon Graphics
  • **GPU:** AMD ATI 03:00.0 Lucienne (integrated)
  • **Firefox Version:** (e.g., 126.0) ← *replace with actual version*
---
      1. 🔷 **Steps to Reproduce:**
1. Open Firefox and browse modern websites (YouTube, media-rich content). 2. Use the browser for several minutes (random trigger). 3. Suddenly, the system UI becomes frozen and unusable. 4. Logs show AMDGPU VM fault and `gfx ring timeout`.
---
      1. 🔷 **Expected Behavior:**
System should remain stable during normal browser usage, especially with an officially supported AMD APU.
---
      1. 🔷 **Actual Behavior:**
GPU driver crashes causing total system freeze, likely triggered by hardware acceleration and memory permission faults inside the amdgpu driver stack.
Hey, I have recently installed Zen Browser because of a friend's suggestion. Although I really loved the fresh vibe of the Browser in comparison to what I was accustomed of which is Chrome. But after some initial hassle of setting up the browser I figured one thing that although I have a 100Hz external monitor and a 90Hz Panel on the Laptop the Webpages while scrolling it felt that it was somewhere 45-60Hz. I tried the UFO Test as well but there I was getting 100Hz but whenever I visited any website (say LinkedIn or even Youtube) the page seem very very laggy and it made me switch back to Chrome (Honestly I wanted to stay on Zen only) but the problem forced me to switch back. I understand that the browser is still in its Beta Phase but still the experience I had it was not good. Hope I can get some resolution and hop back to Zen as I really want to.
PS - I have tried all the fixes from reddit pages, Hardware Acceleration, Smooth Scrolling, etc. none works.
I have an e-mail in my TB in-box. The mail contains a hyperlink to Facebook. When I click on the hyperlink, I get the message copied above in the Subject of this problem. In almost all cases, if I re-click on the icon in the e-mail, the re-click takes me to the desired URL in Firefox. My Thunderbird is 128.11.1esr (64-bit). Why is the first click producing the error message? Would there be anything in the TB Error Console?
I've been a long-time Thunderbird user with a POP3 account (Google Workspace), and I’m currently dealing with two critical issues. I have over 50 GB of email data accumulated over the years, and recently Thunderbird has started behaving erratically.
1. Thunderbird consuming unexplained disk space Thunderbird is using a significantly larger amount of disk space than my actual email data. For example:
- Windows reports that the disk is using 65 GB, but when I check the contents of the Thunderbird folders, they only add up to 55 GB.
- There are no hidden or temporary files accounting for the difference. - The problem worsens when I compact or repair folders. Initially, the unaccounted disk space was about 5 GB, but after compacting, it jumped to 10 GB, then 15 GB, and eventually over 50 GB.
At that point, I backed up all Thunderbird data to an external drive and formatted the original drive. This restored full disk space (195 GB free). After copying the Thunderbird data back, everything seemed fine—until I launched Thunderbird again. Immediately, disk space began depleting rapidly with no visible cause.
I’m at a loss as to where Thunderbird is storing this data or why it's behaving this way.
2. Emails missing randomly Some emails are intermittently disappearing from folders. I have to frequently "repair" folders to make them reappear. This is happening every few hours now. Additionally, repairing or compacting these folders seems to correlate with the unexplained disk usage problem mentioned above.
Attached: Screenshot 1: Showing 124 GB free of 195 GB (i.e., ~71 GB used) Screenshot 2: Showing only 65 GB of disk space used based on folder contents (no hidden/temp files)
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Hello to those of you reading this,
Over the last five or so days, my Firefox has been acting in a wholly unpredictable way. Every time I launch Firefox, the inspect element tab will open and close itself repeatedly for about 3-10 seconds, stop for a bit, and then start again. CPU usage by Firefox skyrockets whenever the glitch occurs.
I have tried Troubleshoot mode, I have tried a clean install, I have tried to refresh Firefox, all to no avail. This doesn't seem to have anything to do with a Firefox update, as the last update to my Firefox was well over a week prior to the start of this issue.
I am running several extensions: uMatrix uBlock DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials DecentralEyes PrivacyBadger BetterTTV Facebook Container Firefox Multi-Account Containers TTV Ad-block Wikipedia Context Menu Search Redirect AMP to HTML
However, none of these seem to be the cause of this issue as it persists in Troubleshoot mode and after a Firefox Refresh.
The only reasonable lead I have regarding this issue is that the browser console spams the error messages as can be seen in the image attached to this post. A recurring element is "server0.conn0.watcher2.process16". I'm afraid I know only enough about coding to understand that this is probably the root of the issue, but am completely lost on how to fix it.
Another tidbit of information, whose relevance I doubt but am including nonetheless, is that I recently transferred my C:/ drive from an SSD to an NVMe. I'm wondering if perhaps the application is trying to call on a process stored on the other drive. I find this unlikely, as similarly to the point on the Firefox version this only started occurring a week or two after I transferred the drive over.
Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated!
After every update, Firefox starts to a blank screen and will not start loading the webpage url put in for over twenty minutes to a half hour. During this time other browsers on my Win 10 PC load immediately so it is not a network issue. It is Firefox. When I see that an update is pending I hesitate to do the update because I know I will lose the use of Firefox until it is ready to respond. It just hangs with "loading X.com" showing at the bottom left of the blank screen. I have been using Firefox for a long time and in the past year or longer it has become very unreliable. There are also instances where without an update it will do this and the only way I can get it to work is to clear the cache and the history through settings. What is going on with Firefox! (And lately there is an update every couple fo days!
I'm on Windows 10. When I try to open the browser, it loads for a second and attempts to open but then crashes and nothing happens. A message box does appear for a second, but it disappears before I can read what it says. I refreshed Firefox and uninstalled and reinstalled the browser, but it is still happening. Firefox works fine on my phone still, so I don't believe it is a problem with my account. I'm also currently doing a virus scan, but it hasn't finished at time of writing.
Good day, I've had a problem for some time now and I can't figure it out. I get messages that the POP certificate is invalid. I use Cyber-Folks hosting and everything worked until now. I have a pop.etertech.pl domain and it works on that. But Kaspersky antivirus sends messages that the certificate is invalid. What should I do? Where should I look?
