How do I block certain sites (mostly porn) from automatically loading onto my tabs?

I'll be looking at a site, or writing an email (w/ yahoo,) when suddenly gay.porn.com appears in my tabs. How do I get rid of this, and how do I stop this from happening again, and again. Thanks!

Your computer has probably been infected by the Mac Defender malware. for removal instructions see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4650

Thanks, TonyE! On my machine, I think it was listed as MacGuard. It sure looked legit. I'm so glad I didn't buy into it.
