recent Firefox preview update no longer switches to previous app when pressing the back button, it shows the tab list instead

Previous versions of Firefox preview would take me back to the app that caused a link to open in Firefox whenever the Android back button was pressed.

Lately pressing the Android back button from within Firefox preview no longer takes me to the previous app. It now closes the current tab and shows the list of tabs.

Chosen solution

This started with the 5.0 release. It's quite annoying to have to press back the extra time.
