All my email from prior to this year has disappeared. I did NOT delete them manually and there should be at least four years worth. Any way these can be retrieved or any reason why this happen?

Thanks for any information.

Most times when someone comes here with a question like thus (with a year or month basis) they are using an IMAP mail account and their mail provider has a set retention policy for how long mail is retained before it is either archived or deleted. What policies does you provider have?

Thanks for your reply. The Netzero FAQ says is a maximum mailbox size of 1GB and if you exceed that you cannot receive email until some mail is deleted. It doesn't say that they will delete it.

I don't see how this could be the problem seeing as my mail is downloaded to my hard drive and doesn't remain on the Netzero server. I've been with them for eons and this has never happened before.

Any other ideas? Thanks again.

P.S. Not sure of difference between IMAP and POP, but my settings state that I'm using a POP server.
