correct address in addressbook news@cmp.lu becomes news"@cmp.lu and is rejected by outgoing mail, reason ?
correct address in Thunderbird addressbook, example news@cmp.lu becomes news"@cmp.lu and is rejected by outgoing mail, reason ? Have About 300 addresses listed correct in the address book. Export These into WORD or EXCEL and make a selection, say 80 and add this selection in a prepared E-Mail text to become send. They all go, but then I read with several addresses that they have been rejected for the same reason, These read now News"@cmp.lu instead of News@cmp.lu - what is the reason? how to remedy ? These now false addresses appear as well in the address book. If i correct and send out These again, same Problem. see attached Picture of the address book. Can you advise - to: News@atp.de thank you - Arthur correct address in Thunderbird addressbook, example news@cmp.lu becomes news"@cmp.lu and is rejected by outgoing mail, reason ? If my contact in the address book:
With name details as Peter Foo email address: peter@somwhere.com where there is an inserted space before the name peter, of course this is not instantly noticeable, but it is as if you had hit the space bar just before typing the email address.
Then when I use the Contacts Sidebar in a Write message, it will add the email address like this: Peter Foo <" peter"@somewhere.com> which of course in invalid.
but in the address book, if highlight the contact, in the section below the email address in blue -if I click this to send an email the email address is printed exacly with the space and it will send as if nothing is wrong.
So i'm asking you to check those email addresses which insert incorrectly via the Contacts sidebar. They only do this for me if there is a hidden inserted space at the start of the email address.
It can also occur if you are copy pasting and inadvertantly insert a space.
so a space is being added before the email address by one of those methods.
The best method is to use one line per email address. Use the 'Contacts Sidebar' to select the various email address/contacts and then click on eg: 'Addto TO ' button or another option.

The best method is to use one line per email address. Use the 'Contacts Sidebar' to select the various email address/contacts and then click on eg: 'Addto TO ' button or another option.
Each email address is supposed to be on it's own line - it's own 'To' field.
Ususually, when people are sending one email to more than one person they use a Mailing List.
You are adding them one after the other in the same TO field and they are not being correctly separated.
Open the list to read using a simple text editor like 'Notepad'. Each email address should be on a separate line, no blank spaces before the email address, no commas after each email and with no blank lines in between.
If there is a blank line between any of the email addresses then this will create a double comma and produce an error as one will be seen as malformed.
So basically, if you are using a list and doing everything in this long winded method then you will have to double check that the list is correct in the first instance and secondly double check that very lengthy email address entry that each one has been correctly added.
