Unable to configure iCloud email account with a generated password
I am trying without any success to use my iCloud email account. Because I have two facto authentication enabled, I had to generate a password, but even if I am using it inside the right field, I still keep receiving the message "wrong password".
The configuration goes perfectly and even if I try to follow these instructions nothing changes. I tried with several combinations and different email address / passwords / computers / internet connections. Nothing works with iCloud and Thunderbird.
What am I doing wrong?

I have heard of people having some success by turning off the 2 stage routine and then establishi8ng the account in Thunderbird. After they got it working they went back to the 2 stage process and then changed the password in Thunderbird.
I am not an Apple person so if that does not work I have no other suggestion.

How can I "turn off the 2nd stage of the routine" exactly?

I have disabled the 2nd step on iCloud, then started configuring on THunderbird. It was working but not downloading from IMAP the emails/directory. It was saying "wrong password" but the account was in the list. Then I re-enabled the 2nd step authentication on iCloud and a new specific password was generated, but also with that password Thunderbird was not working.
Any solution? I have two Macs and on both of them this is not working. :(
Do you by any chance have an anti virus program or an application based firewall?
