yahoo search - web search comes up when I go to a new tab instead of blank page - driving me a nuts!! Using XP - also Y! in search bar
Not sure how I did this. Downloaded clip art program which added a bunch of stuff that I had to go in and remove from add/remove. (stupid, stupid, stupid!)Also had to delete yahoo toolbar. Still left over is the tab problem, a yahoo search bar, and the y! on the browser bar. Driving me nuts!

4.0.60831.0 is the Silverlight plugin, there is no need to disable those plugins.
A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

Hi,
Please check if this happens in Safe Mode. If it still repeats start normally and try disabling plugins like 4.0.60831.0, PopCap Games Plugin in Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons, click Plugins on the left.

Fast Search by Surf Canyon 3.3.6
Default Tab 1.0
This took care of the problem.
