Your "More system details..." link shows the latest version, so I think you're good.

You may be using the "old" Firefox home page, hosted by Google. That one isn't being updated any more, I don't think.

The "new" Firefox home page is actually an internal page with the address

about:home

Ok, so I'm using a "firefox home page" hosted by google. why is it not being updated? Why did any of this need to be updated? it was working just fine.... I did the "restore default" thing . The same homepage, the same not updated. I guess I'll just have to be ok with it telling me I'm not up to date. Maybe I'll just stop updating... As for using the "new homepage"; no thanks, I like starting up with google, so I could just use a google homepage and ignore firefox altogether...

Google is still hosting the old Firefox home page for Firefox users on versions prior to Firefox 4. You are correct that choosing a normal Google page for your home page is the best strategy for avoiding that message.
