When my laptop runs slow in terms of pulling up websites I was trained to delete Temporary Internet files under the Tools heading then selecting Options. This step only eliminates History and my laptop is running slow again.

Firefox does not use the IE "Temporary Internet Files" but rather the Cache.

It is not clear: Under Advanced Network tab there is a button titled Clear Now - there is no acknowledgment after clicking that button that anything occurred;

I clean the cache because otherwise the mail and internet programs run so slow - really have found need to clean out cache every other day or process slows down

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
  • Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.
