firefox will not allow me to log in to one specific web site anymore, while another web browser will.

I have a secure web site that I use quite often and never had a problem logging into it until just a few days ago. It seems as though my password is not getting accepted.

I can use another web browser without any problems.

I am using firefox 3.6.10

Try clearing the cache and deleting the cookies for the site. This will often fix problems accessing sites that used to work. For details see how to clear the cache and deleting cookies.

I tried what you suggested but that didn't work.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
