Firefox won't load while it attempts to update witout success

I attempted to open Firefox and the update window came up and began its update. Soon after, I get a window that states: "The update cannot be installed...". and Firefox fails to open. When "ok" is pressed, the process repeats itself and fails the installation. I have also restarted the pc and the results are the same.

I considered a reinstall but I'm concerned with losing by bookmarks forever.
