I need to globally turn off all threading in Thunderbird 158

Supertech

I'm relatively new to Thunderbird and have discovered that all folders are configured for threading by default. Threading is something I don't care for at all. I've found one article that addresses this issue but the process outlined is ponderously byzantine. I'm hoping this has been simplified since that process was published. How do I turn off threading on all existing and future folders? Thanks for any comments.

You should be able to do that at settings>appearance

Chosen Solution

You can set the default threading mode for all future folders in <Settings | Appearance | Sorting and Threading>.

To change the sorting and threading options for existing folders

- Set up one folder the way you like it

- If you're using Cards View, temporarily change to Table View.

- Right-click on the column headers. At the very bottom of the context menu is the option: - "Apply current view to..." - "Folder and its children..." - Hover over an account - In the next menu don't select a folder. Instead select the account name itself.

You have to repeat this for every account.
