I use CTRL-Left Click to force open a link in a new tab. Don't know of a way to make just a left-click always open in a new tab.
I haven't found a way to fix this.
The only workaround I have is to right click on a link and select "open link in new tab" but that doesn't answer your question of doing it with a left click.
The funny thing is that there is a setting "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" but not to open link in new tab with a left click.

Months ago I found a way to do it on my Windows 10 laptop, but don't remember what it was, but it works. On my Windows 11 Pro, I can press the Mouse Wheel on a Link and it does open a new tab, but I don't remember to do it. I want the Left Click to open a new tab, like my Win 10 Laptop.
