Do you browse while reading mail in Thunderbird? YOu can certainly get a browsing history in Thunderbird when reading RSS feeds etc, but it is somewhat unusual.

The is an option on the Tools menu to clear your history, Ctrl+Shift+Delete is the shortcut for it.
