I have been using Thunderbird literally for a number of decades, but I am not a technical wizard.I am currently on version 102, but I have been in difficulties for the last couple of months or so. What I would like to do is to revert from 102 to a version without all the new bells and whistles, obviously without losing any of the history of the emails that have come and gone over the years. Can someone please help a decrepit nonagenarian? (Please don't reply just to ask why a 90 year old is still using the Internet :-))

I encourage you to stay the course. Changes will continue to happen and you will be best served by staying current. I do suggest you do backups regularly in case of problems. Reverting to a prior version is a huge headache and, eventually, you will need to upgrade and then it's an even bigger headache. And, anytime there is an update and you can no longer find a feature, please just ask.
