When I use the import feature on the bookmarks bar Firefox doesn't detect the Chrome browser. I get the following message: "No programs that contain bookmarks, history or password data could be found."

Try downloading Firefox from Mozilla. Download, unzip, and run firefox-bin from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release X11 or Wayland? What Desktop? Let me install chrome and test this process.

Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20221228 KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.101.0 Qt Version: 5.15.7 Kernel Version: 6.1.1-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Xeon® CPU E3-1535M v6 @ 3.10GHz Memory: 62.2 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics P630 Manufacturer: HP Product Name: HP ZBook 17 G4

I stopped using my distro version for Firefox as my daily driver about 3yrs ago, but it can also import from chrome. see screenshot

It's Ubuntu 22.04. Using X11. When I run firefox-bin from the product releases it works as expected. Must be the distro version even though it's the same version number 108.0.1.

Yeah, I would love to know what tweaks the distro's do. Looks like you can mark this resolved and run this issue by their forum---> https://askubuntu.com/
