"new sign-in alert" for websites that I regularly visit with Firefox
Hi, I get emails notifying me of "new sign-in alert" for websites that I regularly visit with Firefox 95.02 on my Mac. For example, my wife's GMail account, eBay etc. I suspect my privacy settings and would welcome help! Chris

That messages mean someone is accessing the account. Have you or others had any problem logging in? Perhaps having to do a 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) to log in?
If you suspect someone you don't want is trying to get access to anything, change the password. Make sure it is a strong as you need.
Also, check your personal data (e-mail . . .) to make sure it was not changed.
Thanks for this Fred. No, I'm confident no-one else is accessing my accounts (if my wife checks her GMail account on my Mac, I immedediately get a: "New sign-in to your linked account" message to my email. So it thinks that Firefox on my Mac is a new 'visitor' every time she logs-in. I'll experiment with managing exceptions with cookies, that might work. Thanks again!
Hi Chris,
Are you being asked to sign into these services every time you visit? If so, you may have disabled cookies. enter about:settings#privacy in your address bar and check on "enhanced tracking protection". If you have it set to "Custom" make sure cookies are enabled. Then under "cookies and site data" make sure the box "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is UNchecked
Thanks Don - this looks promising. I'll research/experiment and post how I go! Regards, Chris
