Open PDF internally for links but externally from downloads list

I have Windows 10 with Acrobat set as default PDF opener. My Firefox setting for PDF files is opening in-browser. It always worked like this: PDFs from web links opened in-browser, but PDFs downloaded to computer, when clicked on from Firefox's downloads list, opened externally with Acrobat. Recently, PDFs from the downloads list started to open in-browser as well. I'd like to revert to the way it had always been. Thank you a lot.
