I am trying to view a statement on a bank site. When I click on the statement link, a new window opens, as it should, but then I get a Finder error saying "There is no application set to open the document "statement_read_pdf-4.jsp". It then gives me the option to search for the application. This document is NOT downloaded, so I cannot change the .jsp to .pdf. It is meant to open in the window. This works correctly on Safari. I have tried uninstalling java and reinstalling, but it made no difference. How do I get this to work?

Hi, I have several options to open a statement at my bank. It is puzzling why it is calling for Java to open the PDF file and why a java extension. No modern browsers support Java, only java script in the page code.

Have you asked your Bank support ?

Please go to Applications and see what is set up for PDF files please.

Oh, and you can uninstall Java as having it installed is a security risk and Firefox does not use it. If you have a program installed that requires it then leave it.
