I cant seem to open my emails once I click on an email to read

When I click on an email to open/read it just shows a blank page/space..... I tried repairing the email its self but didn't have any effect.

Any idea what could be causing this as I have only started using Thunderbird for 2 days as my outlook crashed so thought I would move to Thunderbird!!
