Large emails going out twice

So this is the second time this happens to me. 

I had to send an email with 2 attachments (PDFs). And It takes a long time to send and save to my sent folder. Last time the program crashed and I had to start it again, in my sent folder the email was listed twice.

What's going on??? How can I fix it???

probably by turning off outgoing mail scanning in your anti virus program.
